George H. SindermannJanuary 15, 1932 ~ August 30, 2017 (age 85)
George H. Sindermann, 85 of Jefferson, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at Sunset Ridge Memory Care of Jefferson.
George was born on January 15, 1932 in Schlesien, Germany, the son of Paul and Marta (Treutler) Sindermann. He worked at Stoppenbach’s as a Sausage Stuffer for many years and was known as the hardest of workers. George served his country in the US Army from 1956-1958. He was a quiet, patient man, a proud NRA member, and coin collector. George was a lifelong bachelor and lived in the same house the majority of his life. He was fiercely independent, he loved to travel and explore his family history. One time, he drove himself to the Fort hospital and stayed for 3 days without letting his family know! He was a lifelong Catholic and his faith was constant. He loved his nieces and nephews (and their children, and their children’s children) like they were his own. His last 3 months were spent at Sunset Ridge. He hated not being in his home, but he was loved by the staff and he was well taken care of. He passed away peacefully and will be dearly missed.
George is survived by: his Sister Helen (Roger) Rupnow of Ixonia; 12 Nieces and Nephews Willi (Gudrun) Sindermann of Deerfield, Richard Sindermann of Jefferson, Barbara (Kenneth) Frank of Jefferson, Robert (Yvonne) Sindermann of McFarland, Rita Rupnow of Atlanta, GA, Susan (Matthew) Butler of Ixonia, Jeffrey (Danica) Rupnow of Ixonia, Carol Rupnow of Jersey City, NJ, Jason (Megen) Rupnow, Mankato, MN, Connie (Richard) Abram of Ixonia, Cathy (Art) Kealy of Fitchburg, and Heidi (Chris) O’Neill of Madison; Sisters-in-Law Adelgunde Sindermann of Jefferson and Otilie Sindermann of New Berlin. She is also survived by a number of other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his Brothers Ernst, Franz, and Raymond.
Memorials in George’s honor to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church would be appreciated.
