Dawn L. Banker, 46 of Lake Mills, died peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Dycora Transitional Health Center of Beaver Dam.
Dawn was born on June 26, 1971 in Fort Atkinson, WI the daughter of Richard and Marlene (Maron) Banker. She is a 1990 graduate of Jefferson High School and worked at Standish Industries of Lake Mills for 9 years. In 1995, Dawn started experiencing a neuro-muscular issue and was later diagnosed with ALS. She struggled with the disease for many years and although she could be demanding, her positive personality, humor, and zest for life was infectious. Her belly laugh will be fondly remembered. Shopping was her passion and her mother remembers her always “needing” something while out. Although she will be dearly missed, her family is taking comfort in knowing that today, she is walking with the Lord.
She is survived by: her Parents Richard and Marlene Banker of Lake Mills, Brothers Rick (Justine) of Beaver Dam and Kevin of Lake Mills; Nephew Rock and Niece Skilynn (Seth); Great Nieces Aria and Elena; and Maternal Grandmother Evelyn Flemal of Jefferson. Dawn is also survived by a number of other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather, and Nephew Richard John Banker II in infancy.
The family would like to express a most sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Dycora in Beaver Dam for the loving care provided to Dawn.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Olsen-Gibson Funeral Home of Jefferson with Rev. Joshua Martin presiding.
