Donna M. Aumann, 78, of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2018.
Born in Jefferson, WI on November 14, 1940, she is the daughter of the late Aaron and Grace (Schakelmann) Aumann. Donna grew up in Jefferson attending St. John The Baptist Catholic school and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1958. She graduated from Whitewater State University (UW Whitewater) in 1963 and began teaching in the Milwaukee area. In 1970, she took a position teaching for Exxon on the island of Aruba for 13 years. She came back to the states in 1983 to teach in Lee County (Fort Myers/Cape Coral) Florida and received her master’s degree from NSU (Nova Southeastern University). She retired from teaching in 2002. She loved to fish, play tennis and travel. She and her special friend, Larry, traveled the world for over 30 years.
Donna is survived by two brothers, William (Joanne) Aumann and Thomas (Lois) Aumann; special friend, Lawrence Nelson; aunts, Jane Lehmann and Marion Schakelman; nephews and nieces, Amy (Steve) Balzer, Ann (Mark) Kubisiak, Peter (Melanie Bell) Aumann, Alison (David) Hirstein, Jon (Sheila) Aumann, Steve (Heidi) Aumann. 14 grand nephews and nieces.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jefferson, WI with Fr. Tom Coyle presiding. Visitation will be on Thursday from 9:30AM until the time of service at the church. She will be buried at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery following the service.
