Kevin L. Borchardt, 51 of Johnson Creek, WI, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Fort Atkinson Health Care Center.
Kevin was born on March 3, 1972, in Fort Atkinson, WI, the son of Leroy and Jean (Astin) Borchardt. He attended St. Peter’s School and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1990. After high school, Kevin attended UW-Parkside, UW-Whitewater, and MATC, eventually earning an accounting degree. He worked as a bookkeeper at a number of area business and was employed by the State of Wisconsin in the Unemployment Office. Kevin was a dedicated NASCAR fan and enjoyed local auto racing. He was interested in movies and spending time with his children and family was time cherished. Kevin struggled with physical limitations, born with cerebral palsy, but was blessed with a brilliant mind. His disposition was always positive and his attitude, always good. He looked for the best in every situation and person and never complained or held others faults against them. He navigated life with grace and generosity, and his mild-mannered nature was appreciated by all who knew him. He will be dearly missed.
Kevin is survived by: his children Josh Borchardt of Johnson Creek and Allison Reed of Watertown; step-mother Alice Borchardt of Helenville; siblings Bruce Borchardt of Helenville, Denise (Colin) Walsh of Helenville, and Michelle (Ron) Preskar of Juneau, Jim (Gwen) Kieso of Waukesha, Peggy (Jim) Hayden of Boulevard, CA, and Bob (Glenda) Kieso of Oconomowoc; 13 nieces and nephews Michael, Zachary, Timothy Walsh, Ryan, Breanna, Logan Preskar, Mara, Jimmie Kieso, Lisa (Tom) Adams, Bill, Ben (Melanie) Hayden, Becky (Dennis) Chung, and Dawn (Shaun) Taylor. He is also survived by a number of relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Helenville with Rev. Titus Buelow presiding. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00AM until the time of service at the church.
