Ronald J. "Ron" Giese

Ronald J. Giese, 75 of Fort Atkinson, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at his home at Abilities Oak Grove in Fort Atkinson.

Ronald was born on November 8, 1946, in Lake Mills, WI, the son of Reinhart and Velma (Rauss) Giese.  Ron grew up in a large family and was known to be a joker!  He loved to sing and pray and shopping trips were always looked forward to.  Ron was a fisherman and he accepted lawnmower rides whenever they were offered.  He competed in the Special Olympics all over the state and he won many ribbons.  Ron lived at Abilities Oak Grove for 19 years and he considered it his home.  Other residents and all the staff loved being with Ron.  Snack time was NEVER missed, and Ron especially enjoyed Twinkies.  His sister-in-law Donna was very special to Ron.  Their relationship was cherished by both parties and he referred to her as “his Donna”, a title admired by many.  He was sweet man who hated doctors and will be missed by those who knew him.

He is survived by: his siblings Wallace (Judith) Giese of Janesville and Eleonore Carlson of Rhinelander; and special sister-in-law Donna Giese of Jefferson.  Ron is also survived by a many nieces, nephews, many friends, and many special caregivers.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents and many siblings.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Christberg Cemetery of Jefferson.
